bloedel
This bantam shelter welcomes visitors to the magical Bloedel Reserve. An open portal gathers, then frames and directs visitors towards their journey. An interior warming space offers comfort for guests to wait out a passing shower or confer with docents.
A piece of the original master plan to bring the artistry of the estate of Prentice and Virginia Bloedel to the public, the Gatehouse is conceived as a less formal companion to the grand main residence which was also renovated and brought to life as a public interpretive center and administrative center for the reserve.
